Why we use an open-top funeral bier

To honour our veterans in death we wanted to give their procession the feel of a state or ceremonial funeral, and I think we got it right. The pictures show the funerals of Sir Winston Churchill, Lord Mounbatten & Baroness Thatcher above a picture of our own open-top bier. We couldn't have it drawn by horses, but a black Range Rover was our choice
